Day 1

I'm starting this blog mostly as a way of disciplining myself - some kind of public responsibility - as I embark on the project of trying to get my first book of poetry, Sensational Spectacular, into at least one book store in every state.

The plan: Every day, I'll email at least one (but probably more) bookstores in one state. At the end of 50 days, I'll have at least made contact with 50 bookstores, giving me a necessary conversion of 100% if I want to reach my goal.

Ouch.

OK - so, obviously, hitting more than one bookstore per state is essential to success here.

I'm using the NewPages indie bookstores list as my guide, supplementing it when I can with actual first hand knowledge of various bookstores.

This is, of course, where you come in. Feel free to comment at any time with the name/website of a bookstore in your area that might consider carrying my book.
